About FR jacket
An FR jacket (Flame-Resistant jacket) is a specialized safety garment engineered to protect the wearer from thermal hazards like flash fires, arc flashes, and sparks. Unlike standard apparel, these jackets are designed to self-extinguish when a heat source is removed, preventing the fabric from continuing to burn or melting onto the skin.
How They Work
Self-Extinguishing: The fabric resists ignition and naturally stops burning once it is no longer in direct contact with a flame.
Thermal Insulation: High-quality FR jackets act as a barrier, slowing down the transfer of heat to the body to prevent deep tissue burns.
No-Melt, No-Drip: Unlike synthetics like standard polyester, FR materials do not melt or drip molten plastic, which can cause severe secondary injuries.
